Bizzie Bees Markyate
Opened on Cavendish Road Markyate Hertfordshire in September 2001. We have recently extended the hours to suit the growing need of Markyate and the surrounding villages. Bizzie Bees 3 offers flexible childcare for children aged 2-5 years, we offer 15 hours free early years funding for 4,3 and 2 year olds & 30 hours for 3&4 year olds. We offer spaces for 24 Children, we are registered with Ofsted. Our last Ofsted inspection rating was good with numerous Outstanding area's. 
The Preschool is for children aged 2 years upwards. The ratio is 1 adult to 4 children aged 2-3 years & 1 adult to 8 children aged 3 and over. The children in the Pre-school follow the Early Years foundation Stage.
The children have use of the outside space and are encouraged to dress according to the weather.
Bizzie Bees provides the children with a range of recourse that support children in the:

At snack and lunchtime the children are encouraged to be independent. Staff talk with children about the food they are eating and how it helps them to be strong and healthy.
Children are also encouraged to be independent with toileting and hand washing. We have a designated SEND coordinator to support children which additional needs. Please see our local offer for more information. 

All children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. This consists of working towards outcomes/goals in the following areas;
Prime Areas
Personal social emotional development;
Physical Development; 
Communication & Language.

          Understanding of the world
          Expressive arts and design
Bizzie Bees staff complete observations during the activities and record them in children’s individual learning journeys. At Bizzie Bees we use a system called connect daily, this can be loaded to your tablet, mobile telephone, laptop ore desktop computer. I connect allows you to see your child's progress as it happening, sharing what you child has been learning and they fun they have had on their learning journey. I connect also has a Parentzone which allows you to see your invoices, payments made. Most importantly I connect allows you to contribute towards your child's learning journey by adding your own observations and comments.

Opening Hours:
The Pre School operates between the hours of 9.00am to 12.00pm Monday & Friday and 9.00am to 3.00pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 38 weeks a year (excluding Bank Holidays).  We have various options available to suit your childcare requirements.
Staffing Levels:
We have an outstanding team of dedicated, highly qualified staff who work on a ratio of  1:4 for 2-3 years and 1:8 for children aged 3 years upwards to ensure your child is cared for in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
3 & 4 year old Funding
Available to all children the term after their 3 Birthday. This funding enables you to access 15 hours free childcare a week additional hour are available at the hourly rate. Please bring your child birth certificate on induction.

2 Year old Funding
2 year old funding is now available for children the term after their 2 birthday. To enable you to access the funding you must meet the following criteria: (correct at time of print)
·         Income Support
·         Income based Job Seeker's Allowance
·         Child Tax Credit provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an a     annual  income (as assessed by HMRC) that does not exceed £16,190.
·         Working Tax Credit (Disability element)
·         Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
·         Guarantee element of the State Pension Credit
·         Looked After Child / SEN Child
·         Child subject to a Child Protection Plan
